View Full Version : Referral Upgrades explained

When a new user to CashPirate signs up w/o a referral, a random user will get them in there downline. When you purchase a referral upgrade, it gives you a better chance to catch the blank referrals. Its all based off of a referral weight.

When you upgrade to lvl 1, your referral weight=1
When you upgrade to lvl 2, your referral weight=5
When you upgrade to lvl 3, your referral weight=10
When you upgrade to lvl 4, your referral weight=15
When you upgrade to lvl 5, your referral weight=20

Users with a higher referral weight will catch more blank referrals than users with lower weights.

-------------------UPDATE 6/30/09---------------------------------

here is about the only other way I can explain it:

Imagine You have the lvl 3 upgrade so your referral weight=10

now lets look at ALL the numbers (all number are approx, however they are close to real stats)

there are 20 users w/the lvl 5 upgrade (20x20=400)
there are 4 users w/the lvl 4 upgrade (4x15=60)
there are 7 users w/the lvl 3 upgrade (7x10=70)
there are 15 users w/the lvl 2 upgrade (15x5=75)
there are 40 users w/the lvl 1 upgrade (40x1=40)

add all the totals together= 645

now imagine there are 645 tickets in a raffle. you own 10 of those tickets.

you have a 1.5503875968992248062015503875969% chance of winning

Cashpirate had approximately 1200 new members in the last 30 days. At least 95% of these members joined USING a referral link. This means approx. 5% were UNREFERRED (60)

So that means CP had approx 60 "raffles" so far in in the set timeframe. Each of which you had a 1.55% chance of winning. This calculates to a 93% chance overall that you should have gotten 1 referral.

HOWEVER THIS IS COMPLETELY RANDOM!

now in the long run (millions of drawings) this % will prove to be quite accurate, but on the smaller scale, it may vary slightly.

(These numbers were all estimates, and are not exact. However they are close and demonstrate my point. As time goes on, the number of users w/referral upgrades will grow, but also the number of unreferred members will too.)

I purchased the $20 upgrade the first day it was available. It has already paid for itself several times, and I expect that it will many more times in the future!

I just want to know, I purchased the level 3 upgrade, it's been about 2 weeks now. Question is, will I see referrals anytime soon? I see people in the chat that "SAY" they bought the level 1 upgrade and have gotten 3-5 referrals in the last couple weeks... I guess I just don't understand how that upgrade really works.. Can you please explain? Please and thank you

Don't worry. I have level 5 and I just recently reached 7 refs that are not doing anything. So it's a hit or miss... Give it some time.

I purchased level 3 like you about 1 week ago, and I haven't get any referrals up to date. Also, there's no trace showing that I'm an upgraded member, there's no status showing anywhere. I'm pretty confused now.

Oh, I found I can only see my status through the personal status banner.

It takes time to get refs from the upgrade, as you are ONLY getting unreferred members. Also, as explained, the higher the upgrade level, the greater chance of catching those unreferred members. An unreferred member is one who does not join via a referral link, for example someone who simply types in cashpirate.com in their address bar, or joins via a generic link promoted by admin.

My only issue is that it seems in order to actually get a referral from the upgrade you HAVE to purchase the highest level. I spent the 15.00 I made on this site with the hopes that in a month I would have seen at least one referral out of it, but still nothing. I'm all for giving something a try, but they should explain it a little better.

I have seen some people talk about how they got referrals out of the upgrade, of those I've seen, they have either been level 5 or level 1, nothing in between. Now why should a level 1 be able to get referrals before a level 3 or 4? How exactly does this referral thing work? I already read the sticky on the forum, so please don't refer me back to it. I just want it explained a little better.

I just feel at this point that unless I spend another 10.00 on the referrals I will never see one. That tells me I should have just kept my 15.00 and I would have been further ahead. One thing I really don't like is when something is explained half way, and when you try to find the answers you are looking for, people keep directing you to the same thing you already read that doesn't answer the questions you have.

Is it probable that someone at level 3 will ever see a referral or do you have to be a level 5? That's what I want to know.

Referral upgrades on ANY program never guarantee that you will receive refs. The only way to do that is to actively advertise your referral link, or to purchase unreferred members directly from the program itself, which this program does not do. There are LOTS of ways to advertise referral links--traffic exchanges, paid email (PTR) programs, PFA programs such as this one, blogs, videos, and also offline advertising. Even getting referrals does not guarantee that you will ever receive a penny from them--they MUST be active to earn from them. I use a combination of PTR, PFA, traffic exchanges and banner advertising. I am not into blogs or videos, but other people I am sure could do quite well with those. In the end, it is ultimately up to YOU to get your referral link out there for people to see.

It doesn't matter anymore. I see how these things work on this site and I for one have seen enough. I will not patronize this site anymore. If they as administrators can't answer a simple question, then they really don't care one iota about the people the have here. You see, there are other sites I make well over 100.00 a month on and have between 35 and 115 referrals each on those sites.

I will not send my friends to a site that doesn't care about the people that sign up there. That question could have been answered by Dan 3 times already in the past 4 weeks, but he chose to ignore me as usual, so yeah, I'm done here. This site is just no longer worth the frustration it causes me. That is exactly how I will report it to my friends as well. No need to frustrate them either.

Best of luck to you all

no offense, vinny, but if you have that many refs on other sites, then you KNOW how it works. The ref upgrades are fully explained in a couple of places here in the forum. It is ALL hit and miss, with the higher level upgrades having a better chance of catching unreferred members, but there is still NO guarantee.

You are a level 3, I am a level 5.

A level 5 has TWICE the opportunity to receive a ref than a level 3, BUT there is NO guarantee that anyone will join at all. It is all the luck of the draw as to who gets a referral, but higher upgrades have a better chance of getting one. If someone happens to join when a level 1 url is being presented, guess who gets the ref--a level 1 member, NOT a higher level, even though a higher level url is shown more often.

This is the best way I can explain it--if someone else has a better way to explain it, please jump in :-)

No, what gets me is when someone at level 1 can get 7 in the last 2 weeks and a level 3 gets none. What do we do,just pull a number out of a hat and the levels really don't mean anything? That's how I see it working.

I have 3200 active followers on my forum, it would be easy to get referrals from there, but until I personally try a gpt site, I will not refer anyone else to it, nor will I allow others to refer them. It's a matter of reputation.

I actively promote 8 other sites that I have had questions answered honestly and in a timely manner and have made money from all of them. When looking for a new site to promote, the key factor besides actually getting paid is the quality of the responses from admin when you have problems or general questions.

You wouldn't buy a computer without having somewhere to go for tech support would you? Same terms apply to gpt sites. If someone has questions, they want answers. There was only one other site I researched where the admin had minimal interaction and they were gone in 3 months.

You see, they don't make money unless we make money, so it goes without saying that an admin that wants his site to make it will have a lot of interaction with his members. I have one site where the woman that owns it has cancer, going through chemo and still makes time to answer whatever questions her people have. I will promote her site 24 hrs a day 7 days a week, and have done so. That is the type of site that will be around for a long time to come.

Maybe it makes no sense to you, but that's how it should work. Not just a couple of sticky notes that really don't explain anything. Communication is the key to any relationship, whether it be personal or business. I keep in constant contact with my followers and answer questions daily and that's why they stay. I don't know how to make it any clearer than that

I do thank you for the reply though. I appreciate your time

I know what you mean.I have over 20 referrals and only 7 have done anything and 2 are incomplete meaning they didn't confirm their e-mail.I dont know if all the referrals came from my upgrade or not because I have advertising all over the place.

The level 1 upgrade costed you $1. With the 1st level upgrade, you probably wont catch too many referrals from it, and its just a matter of if they are going to complete any offers or not. Referral upgrades are for life, so I'm sure you will get several more from it in the future.

I upgraded to a level 1 and received a referral but it's sill showing inactive not sure why but I guess they didn't continue with signup. So hopefully I will get a few more levels added soon It would make the earning process so much easier.
